Live Music: Joshua Batten
Saturday 29th of October 7-10 pm
Modern day Troubadour Joshua Batten returns to RJM’s with his mix of Roots Rock originals and Classic Rock sing-alongs, featuring powerful vocals, spirited guitar solos and intricate live looping.
Joshua has performed extensively across Victoria, with upwards of 100 shows per year, and has opened for world-renowned artists including Russell Morris, Irish Mythen (CAN) and Neal Morse (USA). His debut full-length album The City Within was released in April 2020.
He is a singer/songwriter/guitarist from Melbourne and has performed regular sets at The Fifth Province, The Inkerman Hotel, Baxter’s Lot (Fitzroy), ArcoBar (Moorabbin) and Jimmy Hornet (Richmond). Also regular performances at regional venues in Apollo Bay, Ballarat, Bendigo and Portsea.
Style is mainly Roots Rock, with strong blues and folk influences.
His music provides both escapism and perspective in a complex world. His live sets have resonated with audiences as his songs strive to “know thyself”, exploring genuine reflections of life’s most introspective moments, since the release of his debut EP Searching For Answers in 2017. “I also have an extensive covers repertoire, going as far back as the 1960’s. In fact, I often provide a “Human Jukebox” experience by encouraging patrons to request songs from my printed repertoire”.
